Abidec Multivitamin Drops should not be given to babies who are receiving more than 500mls of formula milk per day to avoid exceeding the safe upper limit of Vitamin A. Children taking Abidec Multivitamin Drops should not take any other vitamin supplement containing vitamins A and D unless under medical supervision. Additionally, patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency should not take this medicine.
What are the active substances in Abidec Multivitamin Drops?
Each 0.6 ml dose of Abidec Multivitamin Drops contains 1333 IU retinol (as vitamin A palmitate), 400 IU ergocalciferol, 0.4 mg thiamine hydrochloride, 0.8 mg riboflavin sodium phosphate, 0.8 mg pyridoxine hydrochloride, 8 mg nicotinamide, and 40 mg ascorbic acid.
Can Abidec Multivitamin Drops cause any side effects?
Like all medicines, Abidec Multivitamin Drops can cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them. If your child experiences any unusual or unexpected symptoms after using this medicine, it is important to tell your doctor or go to the Accident and Emergency department of your nearest hospital. Abidec Multivitamin Drops contain peanut oil (arachis oil), which may cause an allergic reaction such as itching, swelling of the tongue, eyes, lips, and hands. If your child is allergic to peanuts or soya, do not use this product.
How should Abidec Multivitamin Drops be stored?
Abidec Multivitamin Drops should be stored below 25°C and kept out of the sight and reach of children. Once opened, it should be used within 4 weeks and stored in its original carton and out of direct sunlight. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date, which is stated on the carton and bottle label after "EXP".
Can Abidec Multivitamin Drops be taken with other medicines?
Your child can be given Abidec Multivitamin Drops if they are taking other medicines because the drops do not interfere with other medicines. However, it is important not to give your child other vitamin preparations at the same time.
What should I do if I forget to use Abidec Multivitamin Drops?
If you forget to use Abidec Multivitamin Drops, give a dose as soon as you remember unless it is nearly time for the next dose. Do not give a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
